What’s In My Bag? | Lake Tahoe, California 2015

Happy Thursday! Today I get on my first flight of 2015. It feels like forever since I’ve been on a plane. My first flight of the year takes me just up north to San Francisco. While I’ll see some family, I’m really spending my weekend in Lake Tahoe (CA side) with some close friends – our annual snowboard trip! So here’s a look into the items I’ll be bringing with me to help my skin fend for itself. Face Yuli Halcyon Cleanser Tata Harper Replenishing Nutrient Complex Odacité Night Time Antioxidant Repair Serum CV Skinlabs Calming Moisture May Lindstrom Skin The Blue Cocoon Hair Rahua Classic Shampoo Rahua Classic Conditioner Kae Argatherapie Hair Repairing Serum Body Weleda Regenerating Body Oil Pomegranate Due to the short trip, I usually don’t bring a soap or body wash and just use one provided by the hotel. Did I ever mention how terrible I am at putting on lotion too? At least I’m packing a body oil that will help my legs and arms stay somewhat moisturized in the …

Skincare Ritual | Winter 2013

Wow. Is it April already?! This past winter San Diego didn’t have much of a cold season. Due to last winter being so unbearably cold on some days I was preparing myself for another cold snap. However, it was pretty mild with temperatures averaging around 73°F during the day and 55°F in the evening. They don’t call it Sunny San Diego for no reason! So this time around I didn’t have to rely on heavy creams to keep my face supple. Here’s a roundup the products that have kept my face glowing through a typical Southern California winter. Morning 1. Cleanse with Sodashi Clay Cleanser with Lime | 2. Moisturize with Odacite Beautiful Day Moisturizer | 3. Boost skin with Saya Rooibos + Aloe Face Serum | 4. Protect with a mix of Suntegrity BB Cream + Coola Tinted Mineral Sunscreen To sort of wake myself and my skin up I splash water on my face and then proceed to the rest of my routine. During the winter, a thicker cleanser is ideal in order …

Yüli | Pure Treatment Mask + Giveaway

Today, I’m a little more excited than usual to bring this post to you for a couple of reasons. My first reason being my opportunity to give you an honest review on a product that I absolutely love from one of my favorite brands. The second reason being that said mask is coming to you in the form of a giveaway! So continue reading to the end and I’ll have more details on how you can win! I believe one of the most important steps for any skincare ritual is a weekly mask. Of course, this can be adjusted according to your skin type or needs but pampering your skin to some extra love is a necessary step in my personal opinion. For my problematic skin and hormonal breakouts I thought it pretty important to have a mask that can help with issues deeper than the surface. Clay masks are perfect for that since they work to draw out toxins and impurities from beneath the surface of your skin. There are so many skincare companies that …

What’s In My Bag? | Phoenix, Arizona 2014

My first official trip for the new year and I’m off to my home state, Arizona, for the weekend. I’ll be seeing friends in the Phoenix metro area and snowboarding at Sunrise Ski Resort for some quick fun. Yes, people, Arizona gets snow in the northern, mountainous part of the state! In an effort to save myself a $25 checked baggage fee, I’ll be traveling completely carry-on which means I have to keep my liquid toiletries 3.4 ounces and less. So what will I be taking with me this time? My smaller items and sample sachets will be perfect to carry me through the short trip. May Lindstrom Skin The Blue Coccoon | $160 Pai Skincare Comfrey + Calendula Calming Body Cream | $26 Rahua Classic Shampoo + Conditioner | $8.50 ea Saya Rooibos + Aloe Serum | $35 Soapwalla Deodorant Cream | $14 Tata Harper Refreshing Cleanser (sample) Tata Harper Repairative Moisturizer (sample) Yüli Skincare Cell Perfecto PM Serum | $98 Spot any of your favorites?

Skincare Ritual | Problematic Skin

I’m in my late 20’s (Oh my gosh, I can’t believe I’m admitting to that) but still breakout as if I’m in my teens. I’ve come to terms with this dilemma several years ago but it doesn’t mean I just sit there and let myself go. My breakouts are hormonal these days and I feel that’s better than breaking out at random times for random reasons. So what do I do when I get those monthly breakouts? I’ve learned over time that the simpler my skincare ritual, the better. The following is my skincare ritual day in/day out until my skin is back to normal. Step 1 | Wash face with raw manuka honey Step 2 | Moisturize with organic coconut oil Step 3 | Apply Cell Perfecto PM Manuka honey has wonderful healing properties. It’s anti-bacterial and a natural humectant. Coconut oil has antioxidant properties, deeply moisturizes, and assists in healing. Both items can be purchased at any health food store. I purchased my honey from here but I’m sure other online outlets like Amazon sell …

Yüli Skincare | Cell Perfecto PM

An advanced corrective serum suitable for all skin types to fade hyperpigmentation, correct dark spots and discoloration, heal acne scars and sun damage for a brighter, smoother, more even complexion. Hello everyone! My time off from reality the blogging world has sadly come to an end. I do feel a twinge of guilt for not diving straight back into my blog, for what seemed like an eternity, but it was only 3 weeks. But before I babble on about my adventures and mishaps, I want to bring to your attention a serum that trekked 1 ocean, 4 cities, and 5 flights with me. My biggest skincare battle have been my mild breakouts. Luckily, my flare ups have lessened the older I’ve become but they still remain and generally occur premenstration. Finding products to clear up the aftermath (i.e. acne scars and dark spots) has been a battle I had yet to win… until now. I initially couldn’t bring myself to purchase a night serum and, much more, for nearly $100. Though as time passed, I started seeing …

Skincare Ritual | Summer 2013

Well, everyone, September is officially here! We are now three-quarters through the year and summer is over for most people. However in Southern California, summer doesn’t truly end for us probably until October. We’ve been experiencing quite a mild summer in San Diego compared to last until recently. Temperatures that were once in the mid 70’s are now reaching towards the mid 80’s. I know, we’re spoiled but that doesn’t mean it still isn’t hot! As the seasons change, your skincare routine should change accordingly. There are many out there that can use the same products year-round and not be affected by the seasonal change. Unfortunately, for me, my skin is quite sensitive to change and I must pay close attention to what my skin is telling me. As a green beauty blogger, it’s my duty to try different types of products. With all the products that I’ve been testing out, here’s what I’ve been using to help keep my face fresh this season. MORNING I begin each day with rinsing my face with water. …
