Quarterly Co. | #NDL10 featuring Marie Veronique Organics

Holá, green beauties! I’ll be honest – I’ve been back home for some time now but was fully distracted with the FIFA World Cup. Sorry! Now that we are officially through the second quarter of the year, next month the third Quarterly box will be shipping out. I’ve had 3 months now to test out box #10 and for the first time since joining I actually finished all the products! When I opened the box my eyes lit up because it contained items from clinically-proven brand Marie Veronique Organics. I’ve heard and read so many great reviews and was eager to give these products a try. We picked a trio of truly special products from Marie Veronique Organics’ Pacific line. They have clinical trials to back up their anti-aginng claims- which is great because those claims are awesome. MVO Pacific Mist | retail price $40.00 Nicolle from No More Dirty Looks was an early adopter on this one. She pointed out a few months ago that green tea is the first and third ingredient in …

Quarterly Co. | #NDL09 featuring Rahua, Lulu Organics, and Olivia Garden

Towards the end of last year, Quarterly sent an email stating that they were going to raise their subscription prices from $25 to $50. When I saw that, I talked to my friend who introduced me to Quarterly and asked if she was going to keep on with it. Their past couple boxes (here and here) had been a little underwhelming. So doubling the rate left us both very reluctant with continuing the subscription and, in fact, my friend decided to not pay for the next quarter; however, I did. I wanted to give Quarterly and No More Dirty Looks one more chance and if I didn’t like their first package for the new year then I would simply unsubscribe. Lucky for them I was extremely happy with this quarter’s picks. The first box for 2014 is all about hair. It came complete with staples like shampoos, conditioners, and a luxurious bamboo paddle brush. Had they added a hair oil this box would have been perfect. Regardless, I was still extremely happy with what they …

Quarterly Co. | #NDL08 featuring Ecotools, 100% Pure, and Esme

As I was impatiently waiting for the #NDL09 package to arrive this month, I realized that I had not done my review for the last box. Eek, my bad! There were two reasons why I was lagging on my reviews: (1) I had become extremely busy towards the end of 2013 with some personal matters and (2) I wasn’t very impressed with the items in this box. $25 per box This quarter’s theme? Eyebrows. Those lovely bushes of hair just above your eyes and one of my favorite features on a face. If groomed correctly, eyebrows are suppose to help frame your eyes. My brows aren’t too bad. They’re dark, a bit bushy, and a medium thickness but are slowly thinning as the years pass. No doubt I’ll need to tattoo them when I’m old! In order to preserve my brows, I do like to enhance them with my current brow gel. What do you think of this quarter’s items? Esme Minerals Snowflake Eyeshadow “A simple white shadow is a good thing to have around …

Quarterly Co. | #NDL07 featuring Czech Glass, RGB, and Priti NYC

It’s here! It’s here! I received my first mail subscription order and am beyond excited! Several months ago my friend Smaekup told me about Quarterly Co. Just like Birchbox (and Goodebox and all-the-other-boxes), its a mail subscription received every 3 months (hence the name) filled with deluxe-sample to full-sized goodies. But unlike those other subscription companies, Quarterly is actually comprised of several different types of contributors ranging from design to culinary to health/beauty (and more!). So when I was informed that Siobahn O’ Connor and Alexandra Sprunt from No More Dirty Looks were contributors I signed up immediately. $25 / month As you can see, this box came with goodies to cover you in the nail department complete with a glass nail file, a nail polish, and polish remover. However, I’m not a nail person. So testing these products out took some time…basically when I felt like I had the time to do a manicure (post about ‘organic manicure’ coming soon!). But I did find the time (about a month later) and here are my thoughts …
