My journey into the world of clean makeup. For my dry/combination, medium tan with yellow undertone skin I prefer a luminous finish to matte.

Sodashi | Eye and Lip Cleanser with Chamomile

This gentle cleansing cream removes eye make-up and lipstick and contains plant extracts to nourish and strengthen eye lashes. Last year when I won a Sodashi Instagram giveaway, I received a clay face cleanser and and an eye/lip cleanser. I’ve used liquid eye makeup removers, natural oils but a cream eye makeup remover was completely new to me. I immediately looked through the website to find out more about this unique product. I was a bit hesitant because I thought it would irritate my eyes but today I’m here to confess my love for this product! Sodashi packaging is nothing short of classic. They house their effective products in beautiful violet miron bottles to block all visible spectrum light with the exception of the violet range and infra red. This helps tremendously with protecting the quality and efficacy of ingredients. To my relief, it’s quite sturdy as demonstrated with a few accidental knocks off the bathroom sink. With only 50 mL (1.7 fl oz) of cleanser, the bottle is rather small which makes it perfect …

Alima Pure | Natural Definition Mascara

When it was time to move on from this mascara I was having a hard time choosing my next purchase. Naturally I wanted to try Kjaer Weis’ popular refillable mascara but shelling out nearly $40 was just not in my budget at the time. Alima Pure has great reputation with many beauty bloggers for their mineral makeup so I decided to give their mascara a try. The packaging comes in your standard mascara tube with a cute design printed on it. The bristles on the wand are hard plastic and spread a bit far apart. There really is no smell to it which is nice (I hate mascaras with a strong smell). The mascara formulation is a bit wet and heavy. What do I mean by heavy? Continue reading. When I apply the mascara, I start to lose my curl and my lashes become stick straight which leads to re-curling. However, if I don’t give the mascara time to dry then the it gets built up on the eyelash curler when I re-curl. That leads …

100% Pure | Fruit Pigmented Mascara

When it comes to makeup I’m no good. My skills, if they can even be called that, are quite simple. So I naturally keep my makeup stash small with basics like red lipstick, foundation, and concealer. Mascara is one item that I always have. The beauty gods have graciously blessed me with lashes long enough to curl and so I like to enhance them. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect when a close friend gifted me with the 100% Pure fruit pigmented mascara just as I was finishing the Tarte lights, camera, splashes waterproof mascara. $18 per tube (0.24 oz) This mascara comes in 4 colors and thankfully I received black tea (black). Other colors include dark chocolate (brown), blackberry (purple), and blueberry (blue) and each are colored using pigments from black tea and berries. This 100% natural mascara also boasts an ingredients list that is nothing short of amazing. All of the ingredient have an EWG rating of 0 or 1 (I literally checked). So be rest assured that those precious eyes won’t be irritated with …
